I Became A holistic Health Coach Because…
I am always interested in hearing people’s life stories and what led them to where they are today.
I love it because it helps me build a deeper connection with the person and also helps me to look at things from another perspective. So, I want to share with you a little about me and my journey to becoming a health coach.
First, let me introduce myself. My name is Rebecca.
I love to read, meditate and exercise. I am a wife, mother, and a certified holistic health coach.
Today, I will share the road that led me to holistic health coaching.
My Story
When my first daughter was about three years old, my husband and I decided to try for our second child.
At that time, I thought I was pretty healthy. I ran almost every day, and I was vegan. On the other hand, I was also always stressed, tired, and frequently felt overwhelmed.
Right before we started trying for a second child, I started having strange symptoms, like extreme bloating, abdominal pain, and heartburn.
I went to my doctor, and he declared I was perfectly healthy.
Fast forward a few months- I had a miscarriage at six weeks.
About a month after that, I was diagnosed with endometriosis.
Endometriosis is an inflammatory disease in which tissue that usually lines the uterus grows outside the uterus.
I had surgery for endometriosis, and my husband and I decided to try again for a baby a couple of months later.
Sadly, I had another miscarriage.
I was devastated, confused, and frustrated that I didn’t know why this was happening.
The doctors threw their hands up, told me miscarriages are common and recommended fertility treatments.
However, I was determined to figure out why I kept having miscarriages.
So, I started researching more about endometriosis.
Understanding Endometriosis
My research led me to find that miscarriages often occur with endometriosis due to the inflammation that often accompanies endometriosis, among other things.
I also discovered that the bloating, abdominal pain, and heartburn I started having months before the miscarriages were also likely linked to endometriosis.
Most of what I read in my research was bleak regarding the chances of a successful pregnancy with endometriosis, especially since I was nearing my mid-thirties.
One day, I came across a website run by a woman whose story was much like mine. She was able to have a baby with endometriosis using natural remedies.
These remedies were holistic health principles.
Although I didn’t know that was what it was called at the time.
The key to everything this woman wrote about was reducing inflammation.
So, I implemented these solutions, which included:
- Eating whole foods, plant-based
- Exercising less
- Managing stress
- Working on my mindset
- Reducing household toxins
About seven months after I made these changes, I was pregnant again.
That pregnancy resulted in our miracle baby!

Becoming a Certified Holistic Health Coach
I know that holistic health principles helped me balance my body, manage my endometriosis symptoms, and get healthy so I could finally have a successful pregnancy.
I also realized that everything I implemented to improve my endometriosis symptoms and increase my chances of a successful pregnancy is good for everyone to improve overall health.
Another added benefit of the changes I made was that they also changed my family’s health and wellness.
The healthy habits I have adopted will impact my daughters’ lives and future generations.
Holistic health is powerful stuff!
The changes I have made over the years are things that I teach my clients, so they can also improve their fertility, hormonal balance, and overall health.
My struggles with my health and learning about the power of holistic health are what led me to become a certified holistic health coach.
Health, wellness, and helping others are my passions!
I want all women to know that they can optimize their fertility, balance their hormones and improve their overall wellness as I did and that it is never too late. I want to save other women the time, money, and frustration of trying to figure it out on their own like I had to.
